The Ida Bass Kidney Foundation supports the only hemodialysis center in The Gambia with dialysis and medical equipment.

In addition, a regular donation of consumables to ensure that the growing number of patients regularly receive life-saving dialysis treatment.

The charity has made significant progress over the years. In 2015, the association, with support from The Gambia’s Ministry of Health, commissioned a 14-bed hemodialysis center at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH).

The charity donated all dialysis machines along with a water treatment plant. Two nephrology technicians from the UK were also brought in to commission the equipment.
