Who We Are

The Ida Bass Kidney Foundation supports the only haemodialysis centre in The Gambia with dialysis and medical equipment. Also, regular donation of consumables to ensure that the increasing number of patients receive regular lifesaving dialysis treatment. The charity has made significant progress over the years. In 2015, the charity with the support of the Ministry of Health of The Gambia, commissioned a 14-bed Haemodialysis Centre at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH). The charity donated all the dialysis machines with a water treatment plant. Two Renal Technicians from the UK were also brought in to commission the equipment.
