Paving the road towards a better future on dialysis

The Ida Bass Kidney Foundation supports the only haemodialysis centre in The Gambia with dialysis and medical equipment. Also, regular donation of consumables to ensure that the increasing number of patients receive regular lifesaving dialysis treatment. 

The charity has made significant progress over the years. In 2015, the charity with the support of the Ministry of Health of The Gambia, commissioned a 14-bed Haemodialysis Centre at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH).

What we Do

The Ida Bass Kidney Foundation supports the only haemodialysis centre in The Gambia with dialysis and medical equipment. Also, regular donation of consumables to ensure that the increasing number of patients receive regular lifesaving dialysis treatment.
The charity has made significant progress over the years. In 2015, the charity with the support of the Ministry of Health of The Gambia, commissioned a 14-bed Haemodialysis Centre at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH). The charity donated all the dialysis machines with a water treatment plant. Two Renal Technicians from the UK were also brought in to commission the equipment.

Support Services

Build support groups to help families dealing with ESRD through special programs, and community outreach.

Prevention

Facilitate prevention by increasing access for screening. This in particular is our key program in developing countries.

Resources

Providing vital medical equipment and resources, such has dialysis Machines for medical staff and hospitals in Africa to help fight Kidney Disease.

Support Services

Educate communities on how maintaining a healthy lifestyle can protect the kidneys and prevent kidney failures.
